Inspect the existing surface
Loose pieces, movement, damage or unevenness need investigation before another floor covers them. Ask the installer to evaluate the tile and the supporting layers. A clean surface is not enough evidence that the existing assembly is a suitable base.
Review the new finished height
Added layers can affect doors, appliances, stairs and transitions to adjacent rooms. Check these points before ordering. A proposal that avoids demolition may still require other changes to make the finished project function properly.
Compare with removal
Ask for the advantages, limitations and preparation required for each option. Confirm that the selected manufacturer allows the proposed assembly. The right decision depends on your actual floor and the chosen system, not a general online promise that new flooring can always cover tile.
Plan your next step
Bring your room measurements, a few photos and your preferred materials to the conversation. Unique Custom Floors can help you compare flooring and plan your purchase in Tampa Bay. Confirm installation scope and availability, product requirements and delivery details for your specific address before scheduling the work.
