Do not judge by rigidity alone

A rigid board still needs a properly prepared supporting surface. Ask the installer to evaluate flatness and address the product’s stated requirements. Choosing a firm core does not eliminate the need to investigate uneven spots, contamination or existing floor layers.

Check backing and sound requirements

Find out whether the product includes attached backing and whether additional material is permitted. Adding another layer without approval can change how the floor behaves. For a condo, building requirements must be reviewed for the complete floor assembly rather than a single component.

Review the space as a whole

Large connected rooms, sun exposure, heavy fixed objects and transitions may affect planning. Read the collection-specific instructions with your installer. This turns the purchase into a coordinated system instead of treating the carton as a solution to every jobsite condition.

Plan your next step

Bring your room measurements, a few photos and your preferred materials to the conversation. Unique Custom Floors can help you compare flooring and plan your purchase in Tampa Bay. Confirm installation scope and availability, product requirements and delivery details for your specific address before scheduling the work.
